Mark started working on cars, lawn mowers & go carts while in high school. After graduating from Ashland High School in 1993, he joined the Army National Guard as a Heavy-Wheeled Diesel Mechanic. In January 1999, Mark was working in Columbus, Ohio at a BP Procare when he stumbled upon the website for International Automotive Technicians Network. He immediately joined and has been a member ever since. After spending countless hours talking with other technicians and shop owners through IATN, the dream of having a shop of his own began to grow.
In December 2000, Mark rediscovered the woman of his dreams; his high school sweetheart, Heather. As they got to know each other again, talk turned to this shop he was dreaming of. The idea of owning a business appealed to Heather, as her college degree was in Business Administration. The wedding was September 1, 2001 and by August of 2002, they had moved back to their beloved hometown of Ashland, Ohio. They bought a house on 5-acres out in the country with a nice 40 x 48 outbuilding---perfect for working on cars, someday! The first lift was installed sometime in 2003.
Frazer Automotive Services officially started on August 4, 2003 as Mark began working on cars in the evenings and on weekends, mostly for friends and family. To increase capacity, the second lift was installed in February 2006. By the end of July 2006, with much prayer, the decision was made to go full-time with the “dream” business. July 31, 2006 was their first day of full-time operation.
The business is flourishing. At the end of July 2008, our first official employee was hired. On July 1, 2009, Frazer Automotive Services, LLC moved to a 5-bay shop in downtown Ashland.
We continue to live our dream, doing what we love with the people we love...
